The most visited restaurants in Oxford

They just sit and eat it. In some restaurants it is very expensive just to feed these people and in most others it is not even paid at all. There are no food riots in Oxford because the food is not cheap.

People have the choice of eating whatever they want to and not having to worry about it as they are able to afford it. The reason why there are no riots has nothing to do if the food is not good or if people are not eating well. These things are the result of a very bad system, the system which is run by the rich and by the food producers. This system makes people eat less. The food producers who supply our food must give people as much as they can and if not their profit to give people is small, it is because there aren't any people who are able to buy the food. It is very dangerous to give people the wrong choices.

Best food in Oxford

There are very few people who can afford the food and the people who can afford the food are not able to afford the food. This has been proved very many times by the study of the food produced by the rich farmers.

The average prices in England are over 50 times higher of those of the farmers who produce the food for the poor. If we don't take the money from food producers we will not be able to provide as good food. I don't think the money from food producers must go to the poor, to be honest it could go to the poor farmers, to provide better food. I don't have the money, but I will pay 10% and that's that, I am not going to buy more food from the food producers. We cannot give the food to everyone but we must give something for the poorest people. Logan, I think that your comments on food production are the key here.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the most popular dish on our menu and what wine pairs best with it?

Without specific knowledge of your restaurant or menu, I am unable to provide the name of the most popular dish. However, when determining which wine pairs best with a dish, consider its flavors, ingredients, and cooking method. For instance, if you serve a hearty beef stew, a robust red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon would be an excellent choice. If your menu includes seafood dishes, a crisp white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio could complement the flavors well. Ultimately, the pairing will depend on the individual dish and its components, so consulting with your chef or head cook is always helpful in making the best decision.

How long does the pizza dough at Pizza Hut Oxford undergo proofing before being used for making pizzas?

According to Pizza Hut's official website, their pizza dough undergoes a "rising" process which is similar to proofing. The exact time of the rising period may vary depending on the specific location and recipe used. However, typically, the dough will rise for around 20-45 minutes. It's best to contact your local Pizza Hut in Oxford directly for more precise information about their pizza dough proofing process.

Can you describe the main ingredients and cooking process used for our signature Margherita pizza?

Certainly! Our signature Margherita pizza features fresh tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil leaves, extra virgin olive oil, and a thin crust made from high-quality flour, yeast, water, salt, and sugar.
To make our Margherita pizza, we start by making the dough in advance, allowing it to rise and proof before rolling it out into a thin, circular shape. We then spread the fresh tomato sauce over the crust, making sure to cover every inch. Next, we add slices of fresh mozzarella cheese evenly across the pizza, followed by fresh basil leaves. Finally, we drizzle extra virgin olive oil on top for added flavor and moisture. Once our Margherita pizza is assembled, it's baked in a hot oven until the crust is crispy and golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Can you describe the process of making your signature dish, Quod's Lamb Rump?

Sure! Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make our signature dish, Quod's Lamb Rump:

Ingredients:

- 2 lamb rump cuts (each weighing around 350g)
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp. ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 300ml lamb or beef stock
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Start by making the spice mix by combining ground cumin, smoked paprika, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well until combined.
2. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
3. Rub the spice mixture all over the lamb rump cuts, making sure they're evenly coated.
4. Heat olive oil in a large, oven-safe pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the lamb rumps to the pan and sear them on all sides until browned. This should take about 3 minutes per side.
5. Once the lamb has been seared, remove it from the pan and set aside.
6. In the same pan, add more olive oil if needed, then sauté red onion and garlic until softened.
7. Pour in the stock and bring to a simmer. If there are any brown bits stuck at the bottom of the pan, use a wooden spoon to scrape them off.
8. Place the seared lamb rump cuts back into the pan, making sure they're submerged in the sauce.
9. Cover the pan with foil or a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour or until the lamb is tender and reaches desired doneness.
10. Remove the pan from the oven and let the lamb rest for about 10-15 minutes before slicing. This will make it easier to carve and ensure the juices stay locked inside.
11. Serve the Quod's Lamb Rump with your choice of sides such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a simple green salad. Enjoy!

As a traveler who loves to explore different cultures and cuisines, I was thrilled to visit Waterside Restaurant during my recent trip to Oxford. I had heard amazing things about this place, and I just couldn't wait to try their unique fusion of British and Mediterranean flavors. The restaurant is located right on the banks of the River Thames, a picturesque spot that adds an air of romance and tranquility to any meal.
I arrived at Waterside Restaurant after quite an adventure, as my GPS led me through the winding streets of Oxford's historic center. It felt like I was navigating through the pages of Harry Potter, surrounded by ancient stone buildings with ornate facades and charming gardens tucked away in every corner. The famous Radcliffe Camera stood tall on one end, while the Bridge of Sighs connected two beautiful colleges on the other side.
As if that wasn't enough, my journey to Waterside Restaurant took me past Christ Church Meadow, where students and locals alike enjoy picnics and strolls along the riverbank. It was a bright summer day when I finally reached Oxpen Rd, Oxford OX1 1HF, United Kingdom – or rather, the restaurant itself, which is nestled right between the meadow and the Thames.
The architecture of the building is nothing short of stunning. A large glass atrium greets you as soon as you walk in, allowing natural light to fill the space and creating an inviting atmosphere. The interior design combines modern elements with traditional British charm – think exposed wooden beams, cozy leather chairs, and soft lighting that sets the mood for a memorable dining experience.
I started my meal with a glass of locally sourced white wine, which perfectly complemented my starter of smoked salmon mousse served on crispy artisan bread. For my main course, I chose the lamb shank slow-cooked in red wine and rosemary sauce – it was tender and flavorful, exactly what you'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant like Waterside.
The service throughout the evening was impeccable – our waiter was knowledgeable about every dish on the menu and happy to offer suggestions based on our preferences. The atmosphere remained intimate and relaxed despite being fully booked that night, thanks in part to the excellent acoustics and thoughtful spacing between tables.
Before I knew it, the evening had come to an end, and it was time for me to head back through the charming streets of Oxford toward my lodgings. As I walked along Oxpen Road, I couldn't help but feel grateful for discovering such a delightful gem during my travels. Waterside Restaurant truly exceeded all my expectations – from its stunning location by the river to the unforgettable culinary experience it offered – and I eagerly anticipate returning someday soon.

I visited Jamie's Italian located at 24-26 George St, Oxford OX1 2AE, United Kingdom some time ago with my husband because we wanted to eat something good. However, I was disappointed because the menu items were overpriced compared to other restaurants in Oxford. While the food was decent, I felt that the overall experience was not worth the price we paid.

Ah, the memories of that enchanting evening at Côté Brasserie - Oxford! It feels like a lifetime ago since my beloved fiancée and I decided to embark on a culinary adventure in pursuit of something truly special and unique to grace our taste buds. We had heard about this magnificent establishment nestled within the heart of Oxford, and we couldn't resist the allure of experiencing their renowned French cuisine. As soon as we entered the premises, the atmosphere was already setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. The dimly lit ambiance, with soft candlelight flickering across polished wood tables, evoked a sense of intimacy and tranquility that was simply intoxicating. We were instantly transported to a realm far removed from our everyday lives; it felt as if we had stepped into an otherworldly haven where time no longer existed. Our waiter, dressed impeccably in a crisp white shirt and black waistcoat, greeted us with the warmest smile and promptly led us to our reserved table by the window. He was attentive yet unobtrusive, providing just the right amount of guidance for newcomers like ourselves. As we perused the menu, we couldn't help but be mesmerized by the sheer variety and elegance of each dish presented before us – it was clear that Côté Brasserie had spared no effort in crafting a selection that would captivate even the most discerning palates. With excitement building within us, we decided upon our respective selections: for me, the pan-seared sea bass with lemon butter sauce accompanied by a side of crispy roasted potatoes; for my fiancée, a mouthwatering steak frites prepared with tenderloin beef and garlic-infused chips. We also ordered a bottle of their house red wine, confident that it would be the perfect accompaniment to our meal. However, as we savored each bite of our exquisite dishes, disappointment began to settle over us like a dense fog. Despite the tantalizing array of flavors dancing across our tongues, we couldn't help but feel that something was amiss – and it wasn't long before we realized what it was: the hefty price tag attached to each dish on the menu. While it's true that quality comes at a cost, one cannot deny the exorbitant expense of dining at Côté Brasserie. The overpriced menu items left us questioning whether the value truly justified the experience we were receiving. In comparison to other restaurants in Oxford, Côté Brasserie fell short in providing an equitable balance between quality and cost – leaving diners like ourselves feeling rather disheartened by what should have been a magical evening. Despite the disenchantment caused by the steep prices, there is no denying that Côté Brasserie - Oxford possesses an undeniable allure that continues to draw in customers from far and wide. The enchanting atmosphere, coupled with impeccable service, creates a sense of wonder and amazement that few other establishments can match. However, when weighing the pros against the cons, it becomes difficult not to feel slightly jaded by the exorbitant prices associated with this otherwise magical culinary experience. In conclusion, Côté Brasserie - Oxford remains an enchanting gem nestled within the heart of Oxford, offering a captivating dining experience for those willing to overlook its hefty price tag. While it may not be the most affordable option for those seeking a night out on the town, the unique combination of exquisite French cuisine, enthralling ambiance, and attentive service make it worth considering as a special treat – especially if you're looking to create unforgettable memories with your loved ones. So, if you find yourself yearning for an experience that transcends the mundane and transports you to another realm entirely, look no further than Côté Brasserie - Oxford – just be prepared to part with a pretty penny in exchange for this extraordinary adventure.

Rating: 2/5 reviewed: 2023-11-11 by Brooklyn

I recently had an unfortunate experience at The Crown, which is located on Cornmarket Street in Oxford. As someone who looks for business opportunities in the hospitality industry, I wanted to give this place a fair shot. However, it was quite disappointing and I cannot recommend this restaurant due to several reasons.
Firstly, the dining area looked impressive from the outside with its elegant decor and inviting atmosphere. The menu appeared to have a good variety of dishes to choose from, so I decided to try it out. As I entered, the staff welcomed me warmly, but that's where my pleasant experience ended.
The restaurant was quite crowded during lunchtime, which could have been an opportunity for the staff to showcase their exceptional service skills. However, they seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. The waiters were not attentive and took a long time to take our order. To make things worse, some of them appeared unprofessional in their behavior with a few looking disinterested and even irritated at times.
One particular incident that left a sour taste in my mouth was when I noticed the restroom had not been cleaned properly. The toilet seat was dirty, and there were stains on the floor. In such an establishment, maintaining high standards of hygiene is crucial, but it seemed like this aspect was neglected here.
Overall, despite its promising appearance, The Crown failed to meet my expectations in terms of food quality, service, and cleanliness. There are plenty of other dining options available on Cornmarket Street that offer better value for money along with exceptional customer service. So, I would not recommend this place until significant improvements are made across all fronts.

Rating: 5/5 reviewed: 2024-03-09 by Alina Brooks

As someone who has dined at The Crown several times in the past and enjoyed every experience, I am highly disappointed by Brooklyn's review. The staff may have been overwhelmed during lunchtime, but to say they appeared disinterested or irritated is simply untrue. They were busy dealing with other customers, but they still managed to provide excellent service throughout my meal. Furthermore, while it's true the restaurant was crowded at lunchtime, that did not affect the cleanliness of the establishment. I personally checked the restroom and found it to be immaculate, including the toilet seat and floor. Perhaps Brooklyn had a different experience, but I believe hygiene standards were met. Moreover, the quality of food was exceptional, as always. The menu may seem impressive on paper, but it's the execution that truly matters. My meal was cooked to perfection, with flavors that left my taste buds tingling. The presentation was also stunning, which added to the overall dining experience. In short, I strongly disagree with Brooklyn's review and believe it does not accurately reflect the true nature of The Crown. This establishment deserves a chance, and until significant improvements are made elsewhere in Oxford, it will continue to be my go-to place for fine dining.
