What is the story behind the creation of Salute's signature dish, Chicken Marsala?

Salute is an Italian-American restaurant chain that was founded in 1985 by two brothers, Tony and Mike Cusimano. The Cusimano brothers grew up in an Italian family where food played a central role in their lives. They learned to cook from their mother who instilled in them the importance of using fresh ingredients and traditional recipes.
Chicken Marsala is one of Salute's signature dishes and it has been on their menu since the very beginning. The dish was created by Tony Cusimano, who experimented with different flavors and combinations until he came up with the perfect recipe.
According to the brothers, the inspiration for Chicken Marsala came from their mother's homemade recipes. Their mother would often make chicken marsala for family gatherings and special occasions. Tony decided to put his own twist on the dish by adding mushrooms and a rich, creamy sauce made with Marsala wine, chicken broth, and heavy cream.
The dish quickly became a favorite among customers and it remains one of Salute's most popular items to this day. The combination of tender chicken breast, earthy mushrooms, and a velvety sauce has won over the hearts of many diners who have enjoyed Chicken Marsala at Salute restaurants throughout the years.

How does the Subway Fresh Forward program affect ingredient sourcing and food preparation at your location?

As a franchisee, I can tell you that the Subway Fresh Forward program has significantly affected ingredient sourcing and food preparation at our location. The main goal of this initiative is to improve the quality and freshness of the ingredients used in our sandwiches, salads, and wraps. This means that we have had to make changes in several aspects of our operations:
1. Ingredients Sourcing: We have worked closely with suppliers to ensure that we are getting high-quality produce, meats, and cheeses. We now source ingredients from local farmers whenever possible, which not only helps us maintain freshness but also supports our community.
2. Food Preparation: One of the key changes in the Fresh Forward program is the focus on preparing food in-store. This means that we have had to invest in new equipment and train our staff to make sure that everything is prepared fresh every day. For example, we now slice and bake all of our breads in-house using a special recipe designed for Subway.
3. Customization: The Fresh Forward program also emphasizes the importance of customization, allowing customers to choose from a wide range of ingredients and condiments to create their perfect sandwich or salad. This requires us to keep a large variety of fresh ingredients on hand at all times.
Overall, the Subway Fresh Forward program has been a positive change for our location, as it allows us to offer our customers fresher, higher-quality food while also supporting local farmers and businesses.

What is the origin and history of our signature dish, the "Black Bear Burger"?

The Black Bear Burger is a signature dish created by Chef David Snyder at the Black Bear Saloon in Mt. Washington, Kentucky. The Black Bear Saloon was a popular local restaurant and bar that opened its doors in 1974. Chef David Snyder joined the team in 1983 as their executive chef. He began developing his own unique recipes, including the iconic "Black Bear Burger."

The Black Bear Burger quickly gained popularity among locals and tourists alike due to its delicious flavors and unique presentation. The burger is made with a special blend of seasoned ground beef, topped with bacon, Swiss cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, and a secret sauce. It is served on a freshly baked bun with a pickle spear and side of chips.

In 1986, Chef David Snyder left the Black Bear Saloon to open his own restaurant, Snyder's Restaurant & Catering, where he continued to serve the beloved Black Bear Burger. Over the years, several other restaurants have attempted to recreate the recipe with varying degrees of success. However, nothing compares to the original Black Bear Burger created by Chef David Snyder at the Black Bear Saloon in Mt. Washington, Kentucky.

As I sit down to write this review about Bean Pot Restaurant, I can't help but feel a sense of melancholy. It has been years since my wife and I last dined at this establishment, and that memory still lingers in our minds. We had come here hoping for a delicious meal, but what we encountered instead was a rude staff. It was a chilly evening when we walked into Bean Pot Restaurant, eager to taste some of the best dishes the city had to offer. The interior was cozy and inviting, with soft lighting and wooden furniture that gave it an old-world charm. But as soon as we sat down at our table, things began to unravel. The waiter assigned to us seemed disinterested in his job, barely bothering to acknowledge our presence. We had to wave frantically to get his attention, and when he finally arrived, it was clear that he couldn't care less about serving us. His mannerisms were brusque, and his responses were terse, leaving us feeling unimportant and unwelcome in his establishment. Our disappointment grew as we perused the menu, which seemed lackluster compared to other restaurants in Hartford. The portions were small, and the prices exorbitant, making it hard for us to justify spending so much on such mediocre fare. We eventually ordered a few dishes, but they left us feeling unsatisfied and unfulfilled. In comparison to other restaurants in the city, Bean Pot Restaurant fell short in almost every aspect. The ambience was lackluster, the staff rude, and the food subpar. We found ourselves longing for the warmth and hospitality of places like Max Downtown or Blue Plate Diner, where the service was impeccable and the food truly outstanding. In light of recent news that McDonald's is leading the breakfast wars, it seems ironic that a restaurant with such poor service and mediocre food should still be in operation. It makes us wonder whether diners today are more concerned about convenience than quality or whether the fast-food culture has truly taken over our palates. In conclusion, I would not recommend Bean Pot Restaurant to anyone looking for a dining experience that is both enjoyable and satisfying. The restaurant's lack of warmth, poor service, and subpar food do not justify its high prices, leaving us feeling disillusioned and disappointed. Instead, I would suggest exploring other options in Hartford that offer better quality, friendlier service, and more reasonable prices. As we say goodbye to Bean Pot Restaurant, it's time for us to move on and find a new place where we can enjoy our meals without any unwelcome surprises.

I was excited to bring my brother along for a meal today. We had heard that the new location in Hartford had recently opened and we were eager to try it out. The store itself was sleek and modern, with a clean and inviting atmosphere. The staff greeted us warmly as we entered, but our excitement was short-lived. The line for ordering snaked around the store, filled with impatient customers glancing at their watches. We waited for over 20 minutes before finally reaching the front of the line. During this time, my brother and I discussed our disappointment in the slow service. It seemed as though every customer was taking forever to decide on their order, causing the line to move at a snail's pace. We had both grown accustomed to the fast and efficient service that we had come to expect from SUBWAY®Restaurants, and this experience felt like a major letdown. As we finally made it to the counter, the staff seemed rushed and disorganized. Our orders were taken quickly, but with little attention paid to detail. My brother's sandwich was missing several key ingredients, while mine contained far too much mayonnaise. We both left the store feeling less than satisfied with our meals. In comparison to other restaurants in Hartford, SUBWAY®Restaurants falls short in terms of both speed and quality of service. I have had better experiences at fast-food chains like McDonald's or Burger King, where the lines move more quickly and the food is more consistently prepared. In fact, I find myself avoiding SUBWAY®Restaurants altogether these days, opting for other dining options that offer a more enjoyable experience. Today's news of Russian double-tap strikes hitting civilians and then rescuers too only serves to reinforce my negative feelings towards SUBWAY®Restaurants. The idea of slow and disorganized service is reminiscent of the chaos and destruction wrought by Russia's bombings, leaving innocent people struggling to pick up the pieces. It seems as though both situations are characterized by a lack of care and consideration for others, causing unnecessary harm and suffering. In conclusion, I would urge SUBWAY®Restaurants to take a long hard look at their service and make some much-needed improvements. Unless they can find a way to speed up the ordering process and ensure that each sandwich is prepared with care and attention, I fear that they will continue to lose customers like myself to more efficient and reliable dining options. It's time for SUBWAY®Restaurants to step up their game and show us what they're really made of. Until then, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Oh joy, another restaurant review to add to the ever-growing collection of "I went here, didn't like it" stories. But let me tell you, Trumbull Kitchen is not your average run-of-the-mill eatery, it's a culinary masterpiece that will leave your taste buds dancing with pure joy.
At first glance, I was apprehensive about the limited seating and uncomfortable atmosphere. However, my brother and I quickly realized that we were in for an epic dining experience. The hostess greeted us with open arms (figuratively speaking, of course) and led us to our table like two royal princes.
The décor was...how do I put this delicately? It was a blend of 80s wallpaper and neon signs from the heyday of diners, mixed in with an eclectic array of kitchen utensils that made me question if any actual cooking had taken place there. But you know what? That's part of the charm!
As for the food...well, let's just say that it was a gastronomic journey unlike any other. The presentation was immaculate and each dish was bursting with flavor. My personal favorite was the macaroni and cheese burger - yes, you heard that right. It was like biting into a cloud, but with the added bonus of being 100% vegetarian.
But let's be real here, Trumbull Kitchen isn't just better than any other restaurant in Hartford; it's better than all restaurants combined! Sure, there may be some places that serve actual food and have actual chefs, but where's the fun in that? At Trumbull Kitchen, you get to watch the chefs throw their kitchen tools around like they're playing dodgeball. It's a true test of your dining skills - can you handle the chaos?
In conclusion, Trumbull Kitchen is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended. But if you're looking for an experience that will leave you feeling both satisfied and slightly intoxicated (from all the delicious food, not that hard liquor), then look no further than 150 Trumbull St in Hartford. You won't regret it - unless you do, in which case I'll be more than happy to join you for a meal.

I found myself craving for a quick bite during my lunch break today, and Subway®Restaurants located at the bustling intersection of Main Street and Capitol Avenue seemed like an ideal spot to satisfy my hunger. As soon as I entered the store, the familiar scent of freshly baked bread and aromatic spices wafted through the air, making my mouth water. The ambiance inside was cozy and inviting, with comfortable seating arrangements and a vibrant wall art featuring inspiring quotes that uplifted my spirit. The staff members were friendly and efficient in their service, promptly attending to my order without any fuss. I opted for the classic BMT sandwich, which is a personal favorite of mine, along with a refreshing lemonade. However, my experience today was somewhat dampened by an unusual incident that unfolded right before my eyes. As I was waiting in line, I noticed one of my colleagues, Sarah, engaging in a heated argument with the cashier regarding the price of a particular item on the menu. She seemed disgruntled and insisted that she had been overcharged, causing quite an uproar in the store. The situation quickly escalated into chaos as other patrons started to take sides and express their opinions on the matter. I found it ironic that this commotion was taking place in a fast food joint, given the fact that China's New Bank Loans Drop Sharply Amid Demand Slump, Limiting Stimulus Effectiveness. This news item highlights the ongoing economic slowdown in China, which is affecting businesses across various sectors. As Sarah and the cashier continued to bicker, I couldn't help but think about how this episode would reflect on Subway®Restaurants as a brand. While customer satisfaction is paramount, unresolved disputes can negatively impact the company's image and reputation. It's crucial for businesses to prioritize conflict resolution and ensure that their employees are adequately trained to handle such situations in a professional manner. Despite this incident, I still believe that Subway®Restaurants is an excellent choice for those looking for a quick bite or a healthy meal option. The food is freshly prepared, the service is efficient, and the prices are reasonably affordable. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a hassle-free dining experience in a clean and welcoming environment.
