How to book a table in Aix en Provence restaurant on-line
Restaurant or self-prepared food ?
All living organisms needs food to survive and the human species has brought food into the art. Food has always been treated with due respect for its importance for survival.
In consumer societies for example in Aix en Provence citizens prefer services like restaurants instead of agriculture. Not only typical tourist destinations have restaurants. For example here in Aix en Provence there are plenty of them, where you can try new cheesy stuffed peppers like Esther Browning before the Internet revolution.
Many of the people in Aix en Provence are not aware that improper whipping cream could be harmful to you. For example bucatini pasta bolognese with baby bok choy and sesame-ginger cucumber salad could have 730 kcal in each 100 grams.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the origin and inspiration behind Chef Hugo's signature dish, "Les Gnocchis de Mer"?
Les Gnocchi de Mer, which translates to "Sea Gnocchi" in English, is a signature dish created by French chef Hugo Chanut at his restaurant Le Petit Nicolas in Paris. The inspiration behind this unique dish comes from Chef Hugo's love for both the sea and Italian cuisine.
The dish is an innovative fusion of French and Italian culinary traditions, as it combines the rich flavors of the Mediterranean with the lightness and elegance that characterizes French gastronomy. The sea gnocchi are made from a mixture of fresh fish, shellfish, and seasonal vegetables, mixed together and then shaped into small, bite-sized dumplings. These are then poached gently in a delicate broth made with fish stock, white wine, and aromatic herbs such as fennel, tarragon, and saffron.
The result is a dish that is both visually stunning and full of flavor - a true culinary masterpiece that celebrates the best of what the ocean has to offer. It's no wonder that Les Gnocchi de Mer has become one of Chef Hugo Chanut's most famous creations, earning him numerous accolades from food critics and diners alike.
Can you recommend a traditional Provençal dish that best represents the local cuisine and ingredients?
Certainly! One of the most iconic and representative dishes from the Provence region in France is Bouillabaisse. It's a hearty fish stew made with various types of fresh seafood, tomatoes, garlic, onions, saffron, and herbs such as thyme, bay leaves, and orange peel. The traditional way to serve it involves presenting the soup in a large bowl and offering side plates with crusty bread, rouille (a spicy garlic mayonnaise), and sliced raw garlic. It's typically enjoyed during the warmer months and is often accompanied by a crisp white wine from the region.
Can you describe the differences between Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine, as well as some popular dishes that can be found at your China Town - Vietnamien & Chinois restaurant?
Absolutely! Vietnamese cuisine is known for its fresh herbs and vegetables, use of rice and noodles, and a balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. Popular dishes include pho (rice noodle soup with beef or chicken), banh mi (Vietnamese-style sandwiches), and goi cuon (fresh spring rolls).
On the other hand, Chinese cuisine is incredibly diverse due to its vast geography and range of regional styles. Generally speaking, it features a balance of yin and yang flavors, with an emphasis on contrasting textures. Popular dishes in China Town restaurants might include dim sum (steamed or fried dumplings), kung pao chicken (stir-fried with peanuts and vegetables), and Peking duck (a whole roasted duck served with thin pancakes).
At our China Town - Vietnamien & Chinois restaurant, you can find a fusion of both Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. We offer dishes like pho and banh mi, as well as Chinese classics like dan dan noodles (spicy sesame noodles) and Sichuan-style hot pot (a communal dish where ingredients are cooked in a simmering pot of broth). Our menu also includes unique items that combine elements from both cuisines, such as bun bo hue xiao long bao (Vietnamese-style pork meatballs wrapped in Chinese dumpling skin) and Vietnamese-style duck fried rice.
Can you describe the ingredients and cooking process for your signature dish, "Ratatouille Provençale"?
Of course! My Rataouille Provençale is a delightful French-inspired ratatouille that brings together an array of fresh vegetables cooked to perfection in a flavorful tomato-herb sauce. Here are the ingredients and cooking process for this delicious dish:
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 zucchini, sliced into rounds
- 2 yellow squash, sliced into rounds
- 1 eggplant, sliced into rounds
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and diced
- 4 plum tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Cooking Process:
1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, and sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant, red bell pepper, and yellow bell pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine all ingredients, then cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender but still hold their shape.
3. Add the chopped tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, and fresh thyme leaves to the skillet. Stir well to incorporate all the ingredients. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
4. Continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes, or until the tomatoes have broken down and the sauce has thickened slightly.
5. Serve your Rataouille Provençale hot as a side dish or over cooked pasta or rice for a hearty main course. Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of dining at Jardiin Mazarin last summer while on a business trip in the charming city of Aix en Provence. My business partner and I were staying near Cours Mirabeau, one of the most famous points of interest in Aix-en-Provence, so we decided to take a leisurely stroll towards our destination for dinner.
We began our journey by walking down the bustling Cours Mirabeau, admiring its beautiful fountains and vibrant shops along the way. We then turned onto Rue Espariat, which is just a few blocks away from the Cours Mirabeau and leads to the picturesque Place de Verdun. From there, we continued walking straight through the charming streets of Aix en Provence until we reached 15 Ruelle du 4 Septembre, where Jardiin Mazarin is conveniently located.
As we entered the restaurant, we were immediately impressed by its cozy atmosphere and warm lighting. The service was impeccable, and the food was simply divine. We feasted on a delicious array of traditional Provençal dishes, accompanied by some of the finest wines in the region. Throughout our meal, we couldn't help but marvel at the friendly staff and attentive service that made our dining experience truly unforgettable.
Overall, I highly recommend Jardiin Mazarin to anyone visiting Aix en Provence. It's a true gem of a restaurant that offers an authentic taste of Provençal cuisine in a welcoming and inviting setting. And with its convenient location near some of the city's most popular attractions, it's easy to see why this is one of my favorite spots to dine when I'm in town on business.

My dear friends, today I am going to share my incredible experience at Jardi Mazarin, a hidden gem in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. Located near the bustling Cours Mirabeau and the charming Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, this restaurant is an oasis of gastronomic delight that has been serving its patrons for decades.
It was a warm summer night when my partner and I decided to revisit Jarde Mazarin, a place we had first discovered on our honeymoon several years ago. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the familiar scent of Provençal herbs wafting through the air, transporting us back to that special time in our lives. The cozy ambiance of the dimly lit interior, with its rustic wooden beams and charming decor, was the perfect setting for a romantic evening.
The menu at Jarde Mazarin is an exquisite selection of traditional Provençal dishes, each crafted with love and attention to detail by their skilled team of chefs. We began our meal with a delightful amuse-bouche – a tangy shot of gazpacho that was the perfect way to whet our appetites. For our entrée, I opted for the succulent sautéed scallops with a zesty orange reduction, while my partner chose the mouthwatering cassoulet, a hearty stew of white beans and sausage.
As we sipped on their exquisite house wine – a crisp Rosé from nearby Château de Pibarnon – we marveled at the beautiful architecture surrounding us. Aix-en-Provence is renowned for its picturesque streets lined with centuries-old buildings, and 15 Ruë du 4 Septembre is no exception. The facades of the surrounding buildings are adorned with elegant wrought iron balconies and colorful shutters that seem to change hue as the sun sets.
For dessert, we shared a decadent crème brûlée that was rich, creamy, and perfectly caramelized on top – a fitting finale to our extraordinary meal. As we left the restaurant, hand in hand, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the memories we had created together at Jarde Mazarin, and for the opportunity to rekindle our love for one another in such a magical place.
If you find yourself wandering the enchanting streets of Aix-en-Provence, I highly recommend taking a detour down Ruë du 4 Septembre and discovering the culinary delights that await at Jarde Mazarin. It's truly a hidden gem that will leave you with unforgettable memories and a taste for life that only Provençal cuisine can provide.
