While it is true that the lobby had a distinct odor and the front desk clerk seemed disinterested, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful throughout my stay. And as for the room, well, it may not have been the Ritz-Carlton, but it was clean and comfortable enough for my needs. As for the bathroom, yes, there were some stray hairs and dust particles, but I've stayed in far worse accommodations before and survived to tell the tale. And as for the showerhead, well, maybe I'm just more flexible than Ms. Merritt, but I had no trouble rinsing off without getting drenched. As for the alleged outbreak of hysterical laughter disease, I can only assume that Ms. Merritt and her lover were simply overreacting.
