And so on. It was important to name things that were used in cooking, and so on.
The owner of the restaurant, the chef, would always remember the names of items that were made here and that had been served. It was only when the customer was ready to eat that he could find out what name he had given that particular dish to him.
The customers of every restaurant, in the same way as the customers of any other business place or restaurant, were expected to come and wait for their food. It was only when the customer got ready to eat that he could ask for the name plate or for his name plate, or both.
